The Silver Scholars Program at the Yale School of Management offers college seniors the opportunity to earn a Yale MBA degree in three years directly after completing their undergraduate degree, spring-boarding them toward their career goals and leadership positions. The program is designed for exceptional students with strong leadership potential.
Candidates of all majors are welcome to apply. The admissions committee is looking for candidates with a combination of intelligence, maturity, and curiosity who aim to be future leaders in their field of interest.
Only current college seniors are eligible to apply. Your graduation date must be on or after December 1, 2018. You must be scheduled to graduate (complete all coursework and submit a final transcript with proof of undergraduate degree conferral) by August 1, 2019.
International students are also welcome to apply.
Period of Study
The Silver Scholars Program begins the fall after completing your undergraduate degree. Silver Scholars enroll in the full-time two-year MBA program but rather than the traditional summer MBA internship, Silver Scholars complete a year-long internship, extending their experience to three years.
Applicants to the Yale SOM Silver Scholars Program complete the same online application as the full-time MBA program.
Silver Scholars must provide two letters of recommendation: one (1) letter from an academic instructor and one (1) letter from an employer. Academic recommendation: This should be a faculty member who has taught you in class and graded your performance. Employer recommendation: This is someone for whom you have worked professionally in some capacity during college (full-time during a summer internship or part-time during the academic year). If you have no work experience, then you may secure a letter from an extracurricular activity or volunteer organization in which you have been actively involved.
