Statistical Consulting

Statistical consulting is available to members of the GW Community working on research projects. You can book a consultation for help with:

  • Programs like R, Python, SPSS, and more
  • Topics like quantitative sampling, data preparation, hypotheses testing, and more

Instructions for Accessing Consultations in Penji

  1. Log into Penji using your GW email. If this is your first time logging into Penji, you will be directed to a single sign-on page.
  2. Select either "Schedule a 30 min 1 on 1 appointment" or "Schedule a 60 min 1 on 1 appointment" based on your preference.
  3. Choose "Edit your topics" then "Join another topic" to add the program(s) you want to receive help with from the list provided (e.g. SAS).
  4. Once a topic has been added to your account, you can click on it and you will be directed to a calendar with consultation availability over the next two weeks. Use the arrows in the top right corner to navigate between weeks.
  5. Select a time slot and you will be able to view the specific consultant(s) available. You can choose who to meet with and whether to meet in-person or online.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) & Data Mapping

GIS consulting is available to members of the GW community looking for support with geographic analyses, the creation and use of maps, and geospatial data. Regardless of your experience level, we have services to meet your needs.

You can book a consultation to:

  • Find, access, analyze, and publish geospatial data, historic maps, remotely sensed imagery, and similar data sources
  • Learn techniques and use GIS software and visualization tools appropriate for your particular research project.
    • It is the researcher’s responsibility to ensure that the research design, analysis, and presentation are appropriate for their context.
